I enjoyed the fact that it was in Paris and near the Metro. That's about it.
The rooms were, even by Paris standards, tiny. Especially for two people. We were tripping over each other constantly and there was literally not enough room for one suitcase, let alone two (small) ones. The shower facilities were dismal. It is not mentioned that they are only either on the top or bottom floor, and ridiculously small. The WC was ok.
The location was good - near the metro, shops and restaurants.
We chose this hotel particularly because the Rough Guide said it was in a quiet street. But not if you were on the first floor at the front. We could hear loud road noise from Avenue Maine and a nearby bar at the weekend was noisy until early hours. Also we paid for an en suite room but our door was opposite the w.c. - so we could hear that door opening and closing, often very early in the morning (probably woken up by the rubbish collection at 6.30 am!)
The location is excellent, in the Montparnasse area very close to metro stop Gaite. It was helpful that it was possible to leave our bags at the hotel as we were leaving late in the evening however this is not in a secure area - just a cupboard in the reception area. The rooms with shared facilities do contain a washbasin, mirror and hairdryer, and towels are provided. There were no problems with noise in the room that I stayed in. I would only reccommend this hotel if you are on a tight budget and want to stay within the central area of Paris.
There is a toilet on each floor but not a shower which is not very convenient - I stayed on the second floor and the nearest shower was on the fourth floor. Given there are around 8 double rooms on each floor I think this is not enough. The showers could also have been better maintained and cleaner.
Staff was usually very friendly. The microwave and fridges were very useful for cooking lunch and/or dinner. Good Location
Thin walls, quite noisy. Wouldn't bother paying for a bathroom, we did and were put on the same floor as the communal bath and shower which was right next door and unfortunately could hear the doors of people going in and out slamming all night and quite early in the morning too.
Very good value for money, very good location, very clean and nice environment.
At night one could hear very clearly other people in their rooms.
Nice staff and comfortable quarters in which to pass a leisure vacation.
Great hotel staff - always helpful and caring. Rich breakfast, great coffee machine.
There is the lift missing so if you have heavy luggage you have to carry it.
For the price, hard to beat. I don't mind sharing a wc or shower at all and don't mind small rooms. Like any inexpensive place, it can be noisy depending on who is next door, mostly we were lucky, bring good earplugs. Rooms were very small but considering how reasonable the rates were to be in Paris, it was an excellent value for the money. You cannot be in Paris without compromise due to the demand. Staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. We came with a 1 year old and they provided a new comfortable cot for free. Free wifi. Good history, Sartre stayed there. Had a small but quiet and nice courtyard and comfortable armchairs to sit and read/surf in the evening. Would be glad to stay there again if we return to Paris and haven't won the lottery. Note-important-neighborhood was very nice with many quaint restaurants on the side streets and a five minute walk from the metro; ten minutes from RER stop Denfert-Rochereau. Not a dirty sleazy neighborhood one might expect at this price point. Merci beaucoup! :)
Considering the price, no complaints.
Good location, although not at city center, but very close to Metro "Gaite" in line 13, and close to a shopping street. Free wireless network, username and password changed every. Staff are very friendly. We live in a Ecomony double room. shared bathroom, there is basin and mirror in room.
Network at late night, say after 23:30, sometimes is not stable.
Good location. Accommodating reception desk. Quiet.
No elevator. My bathroom could have used a pair of curtains. The glass was frosted, but I was always afraid of giving the people in the courtyard a show.
Too short time to find one
The location is great and the rooms are quite cheap.
The room we stayed in was quite small.
Pleasant ambience, friendly staff, good location, little shops/restaurants/hairdressers round the corner
No elevator ( had room on the 5th floor), no air-con.
Cleanliness of room and hotel staff
The internet is poor
Good location to get to Montparnasse areas and not too far from metro station.
There is no elevator at all, the stair is small for carrying your suitcases up to 5th floor if your room is on that. Another reason of our dislike about this hotel was that when we make our reservation it didn't mention anything about the bathroom was outside of the room and on the 4th floor below our room floor. The toilet was outside and in the hall way. I would not recommend this hotel, for the above reason and overprice (etap hotels we stayed, they charged us 42-48 euros, they do have bathroom and toilet in your room. This hotel charged 70 euros). Read carefull before reserving your room at this hotel.
